Mother Teresa once said “if you can’t feed a hundred then feed just one”. Shepherd Fountain of Hope Foundation can’t feed all the hungry or poor people of the world but our food policy is to feed as many as we can in the various communities where we operate and then spread out to other nations as funds permit. Good nutrition plays very important role in the physical and mental growth of children and the general well-being of others. The SFP therefore include:
Many rural communities have little or no access to portable water as a result of which women and children have to trek several miles in search of water from streams and rivers for household chores. The consequences of which often include poor school enrolment, poor sanitation and water-borne diseases. While our feeding and festival campaigns meet the immediate food need of the less privileged people, the Foundation believes that it is essential for them to better themselves and be able to stand on their own. Our Skill Acquisition Training Program therefore provides this bridge and currently include:
Festival Campaign Program
The disadvantaged poor hardly partake in the hustling, bustling and shopping that characterize festival seasons. They are too poor to afford the celebrations/Festivities. SHF counts it an honour to partner with God in giving and serving the less privileged, hence we use our Festival Campaigns to place ourselves at the service of the poor through visitations and sharing with the orphanages/Motherless baby’s homes, hospitals, widows etc. With these campaigns:
True religion and undefiled before God and the father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world (James 1:27) The effect of the world-wide economic down turn is more pathetic for the widows and orphans, many of who are living in squalor, famished, destitute and barely surviving. Some of them have taken to prostitution and street begging. Their children have dropped out of school, uncared for and praying for deliverance from their wretched situation. Who will hear their cries, who will plead their cases?
